Day 285 of 366: thankful for imagination!

The power of imagination can be incredible! When I first started off writing at a young age, I’ve come to realize that imagination was the key to writing compelling stories. I’d love to visit Fictional World where my characters reside and escape reality for a while. I’d build empires, speak all the languages in the world, go on adventures, and be undercover like Ethan Hunt. I don’t write as before, but I hope to start back soon as I miss the thrill.

I am thankful for a sense of imagination.

The Bible tells us that it is better to give than to receive and kindness is one of the greatest gifts you can bestow on another. When we do so, we give from the heart, and it’s the best feeling ever.

I am thankful for random acts of kindness. I am thankful that I was blessed to give and also thankful that I was on the receiving end of kindness.

Day 283 of 366: thankful for curtains

I’m currently looking at the curtains hanging at the windows and deciding on what color to get to phase out the orange drapes. I love blue, but I’m also thinking of pastel colors. Either way, I am thankful for window and bathroom curtains, and for the privacy they provide.

Things I was grateful for today:

* Dedicating a new song to the Lord. I was delighted to sing praises to the King when I woke up. Although I did not write down the lyrics to the song, it was sweet to call upon His Name.

* Going to the shop for a few items. I’m always happy to go safely and return safely with Jesus.

* The rain! Later on in the day, the rain fell and since I had a headache, it was a delight to sleep through the rain.

Lately, I’ve been trying to draw at least one image a week even if it’s a ladybug. Now, I know that practice might make perfect for lots of people, but I’m just doing it for fun. I recently bought some watercolor paint and I’m eager to see what I can do with it. Mom has been encouraging me as well by purchasing colored pencils. I’ll be making an extra effort soon to work on blending and shading.

I am thankful for the art supply haul.

Education is not tied to a classroom and blackboard. Just living on a day-to-day basis is an education in itself. Walking in nature is a lesson in itself. With God as our Instructor, we can be assured to get the best education no matter the classroom that we’re placed in (nature, the spiritual desert, etc.).

I am thankful for my every day spiritual education.

During the rain a while ago, I sat listening to it beating against the roof, watching as it fell abundantly to bless the earth, and appreciating the thunder. 

I am thankful for the thunder, for it reminds me of Who is in charge.

Fear. It can cause us to miss out on the wonderful blessings God has in store for us. He asks us to trust Him and one of the hardest ways to learn that He is truly in control is when He places us in situations that are beyond our control.

I am thankful that God is the Boss, and that I can rest peacefully knowing that He is in control.

Before my walk with God, I used to wonder why true Christians enjoyed suffering so much. I’ve come to learn though, that if I didn’t have problems, my focus would’ve been on self. We suffer for the Good News because this world first hated the Savior and God works out everything for the good of His purpose.

I am thankful for the problems that arise daily.

I am thankful to suffer for the good of the Gospel.

I am thankful that through these trials and tribulations, I’m reminded to keep my eyes on God.

Day 276 of 366: thankful for my youngest sister

How time flies! Today is my youngest sister’s birthday, and she’s having a blast thus far, despite having to work on this day. Here’s the thing, Denisia has been my first and biggest support when I first started to write. She read every story, even if it was not in her favorite genres. We share a mutual love for many things including drawing, which we’ve been doing once again lately.

Like most, if not all sisters, we do have our little disagreements, but I’m blessed to have her in my life.
