Last week, it was super hectic. I kept going, going, going, to the point where I was thinking, “Where is this going to end?” Today, I woke early to help with the cooking, and afterwards, I returned to bed and slept for about 4 hours. I felt so much better after waking up.
I am thankful that I got to rest for a few hours today, for I needed it.
Lately, I’ve been staying up late and waking too early. It’s been taking a toll on my body and only yesterday, I realize that I’ve been neglecting sleep in favor of burning the midnight oil. The things I didn’t get to accomplish during the day, I try to do them at night, thus forsaking reading, and working on my craft.
So last evening, I just stop and went to bed early. Sleep certainly is a great medicine!
I’ll try to work on a schedule in days to come, but for now, I am thankful that I can enjoy a good night’s sleep.
The Sabbath was made for mankind.
God knows us so well that we tend to want to “do it all”, that He commanded us to rest on the seventh day. He even led by example by resting after the 6th day of creation (Genesis 2:3). The 7th day is set apart to be kept holy.
Today, I am very thankful for the Sabbath. I normally attend church on this day or meet up with my Bible study group, but I am also grateful to just stay in and rest as I tend to be exhausted due to anemia.
