Day 264 of 366: thankful that I can stand on God’s Word.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,

neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38-39

It’s sad to see and hear Christians put the Living Word down. To question the contents of the Bible and saying that God’s Word is not 100%. To hear them say that Revelation is not real and that Jesus is not returning. It makes my heart ache. All I can do for them is pray.

I am thankful that I am rooted in the Word.

Day 207 of 366: thankful for King Solomon’s writings

The name of the LORD is a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Proverbs 18:10

The Holy Bible is my favorite book of all time and every day, I tend to discover something new… something I can’t say about other books in general. I value each lesson and treasure every reminder. However, some of my favorite writing comes from King Solomon.

Proverbs teaches about the fear of God and how to live by His wisdom. And as a matter of fact, my all-time favorite and go-to scripture is Proverbs 18:10.

Ecclesiastes is a great reminder of how time is fleeting here on earth, and we shouldn’t waste a minute of it for all is vanity.

Song of Solomon (SOS) can be looked at from both literal and allegorical views when it comes to love and marriage.

He also authored Psalm 72 and 127.

I’ve come to love his writing so much that I return to them many times.

I am thankful King Solomon once lived.

Day 109 of 366: thankful for the Word!

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Imagine going through life without a guide.

No sign pointing which way to go.

All roads leading to a dead end.

So we stumble around blindly clutching straws in the dark for there is no light ahead of us.

But we do have a Guide and that’s God’s Word: the Bible.

And we have a Savior that loves us so much that He came here to this wretched earth just to die for our sins, so we can have everlasting life with Him. God cares about humanity so much that He didn’t want to leave us without a Guide.

So today, I am thankful for the Word of God. His Word teaches, nourishes, grows, and transforms us.

Day 23 of 366: thankful for the ability to read

“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

Psalm 119:11

Reading is like a vitamin for me. When I was younger and unaware of time, I would read for hours. I prided myself on reading two books in one day sometimes. As an adult with responsibilities and aware of time management, I still enjoy reading, but now I try to use my reading time wisely.

Today, I am thankful for the ability to read God’s Word and apply it to my life and bind it to my heart.
