Day 326 of 366: thankful for the Presence of God

God’s presence is EVERYWHERE and it’s such a joy to experience it. If you truly love Him, His presence takes up residence in you, and when He reveals His presence, you feel it. 

I am always thankful for God’s presence and to be in it.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

1 Timothy 6:10

Money is something I took for granted when I started off working. I spent it badly on things I did not need with the ignorant thought of getting more just because I had a job. Eventually, I came to value the importance of money and started saving to purchase things I need the most such as clothes and food. Yes, I splurged sometimes especially on books, but now, I splurge carefully.

I am thankful that I have enough money to meet my needs. I am thankful that I still have some savings in my account. And I am mindful that money doesn’t belong to me, but God.

Today, we’re having fries for a lunching snack, before moving on to a late lunch probably before sundown. It’s been a while since I’ve had fries, so I’m actually looking forward to it slathered with ketchup and perhaps, pepper sauce and saltly drizzled. 😋

Day 323 of 366: thankful for second chances

Maybe I posted how grateful I was for second chances already, I’m not certain, but I’m currently reading and studying Matthew. I was on chapter 18:21-35 reading up on forgiving others, and I’m thinking of how we as humans can hold grudges for years. Unfortunately, I know a few people who hold grudges without end, because they refuse to forgive and free themselves.

In all of this, there’s God. We’re not perfect or flawless when it comes to behavior, but He forgives no matter what our sin might be, once we come before Him in true repentance.

I am thankful that my God is a God of second chances.

I’m sitting here thinking of my next long drive. The last time I’ve been on a long and spontaneous trip, I believe it was April, and it was a wonderful experience. I love long trips! During such trips, I get to see more of my country, meet interesting people, and visit popular landmarks.

I am thankful for long drives especially when there isn’t a destination in mind.

Over the working years, I became quite lazy, to the point where I disliked using my hands unless it was for typing. Recently, I’ve been trying to put my hands to much use as possible. I’ve taken up drawing, planting, and pretty soon, I hope to get into sewing.

I am thankful that I can use my hands.

Sometimes while using the laptop, I tend to forget to charge it until the beeping sound reminds me that I need to do so before it shuts down. This is where the power socket comes in… and questions, too:

Regardless of what’s going on in my life, I can always go to God. There are times when I feel as if I have no right to approach Him, but He’s always there waiting for me to seek forgiveness and to put me back on the right path.

I am thankful that God’s mercies are new every morning, and I am thankful that He still hears my voice.

According to what the situation is, it’s never too late to apologize. If someone has wronged us, or we’ve wronged someone, once we’re alive and have breath, we should man up and apologize. 

I am thankful that I can apologize when I’m in the wrong, and I am thankful that I can accept apologies.
