Throughout my life, I’ve been on a journey… to nowhere. I used to think that I had to become something in order to be seen as relevant or important. I thought I had to be rich in order to have it all. All this thinking took place when I was heavily influenced by TV in my youthful years.

When I finally sat down and really looked at myself, I realized that the littlest and simplest things always made me happy. I don’t need to prove that I have a life as I’ve been enjoying it. And lately? I’m happy, I’m in a great headspace, and I’ve been seeing things from God’s perspective.

Lately, I am thankful for where I am, for it’s where God needs me to be right now.

Day 315 of 366: thankful for my handwriting

I tend to write sloppy if I’m thinking too fast and need to get the words down ASAP! If I’m not in the zone, my handwriting can be eligible or even look like it’s printed. I used to write letters and postcards until I traded good old writing for email. However, I’m glad that I’ve returned to writing in notebooks, for I’m also branching off into lettering.

I am thankful for my handwriting, for it’s one of our unique gifts.

Lately, I’ve been using paper more than before when it comes to writing and drawing. I’m looking to try my hands at origami soon, so that means I have to go out and get more paper. Over the years, I’ve overlooked the importance of paper… until today.

I am thankful for paper and its many uses.

God provides us with the ingredients to make the cake, but what do most of us do? We neglect His gifts. Flour is an essential ingredient and without it, I can’t bake a cake or bread despite a lot of flourless recipes coming out daily. Flour is the glue that holds the batter together and I’m not sure where I’m going with this, but I am thankful for flour.

Limes are very versatile although I tend to use it mostly to make juice whenever I have a cold or fever. They can be used to flavor drinks, bake cakes, pies, and tarts. Limes can also be used to neutralize odors and as cleaning agents. 

I am super thankful for the humble lime and its many uses.

When I was younger, I’ll buy tons of notebooks and fly through them faster than one can say “Shazam!” I’ll fill them with poems, music, drawings, stories, dedications, etc. However, my love for notebooks was replaced by the laptop and I got so used to typing that I lost my penmanship.

But, I’ve returned to notebooks in recent months when I had to write notes for scriptures, the blog, and French, and I’ve been enjoying it ever since. 

I am thankful for notebooks and its many uses.

Every day, I use cutlery to cook or eat, and I tend to overlook the usefulness of them as they’ve always been there. So today, I am thankful for cutlery and their many uses.

I’ve been looking to invest in a good camera for quite some time now, but the camera on the phone that I own has such great quality that I’ve decided not to bother with a good camera after all. I love taking photos of nature and I’m thankful that I have a good phone camera.

I’ve been looking back at some projects I’ve completed over the past few months, and I just had to stop and God for the end result. Some took a day, days, weeks, or even months, but I was always overjoyed whenever goals were achieved. 

I am thankful for success no matter how small.

Templates can be super useful! I tend to create templates and save them for later use in Word. One template can be used in 100 different ways! I also enjoy using online templates especially Canva’s for they’re simply the best!

I am thankful for templates for they’re always a great help and tend to move work along faster.
