Day 365 of 366: thankful for 2020!

Trust in the LordΒ with all your heart
Β Β Β Β and lean not on your own understanding;

Proverbs 3:5

2020 was one for the books, but I’m glad that I got to live through it. I’ve learned to be stronger, to be wiser, to always trust in the Lord to direct my steps no matter what. I learned to rejoice in the Lord always, for He is my Shepherd and I did not lack anything at all.

I am thankful that I lived through another year and I look forward to 2021 as I continue my education at His feet.

Day 364 of 366: thankful for new morning routines

O God, You areΒ my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.

Psalm 63:1

At the very beginning of the year, God has shown me that 2020 was all about new beginnings, and throughout the year, I’ve come to see many of them come to pass in my everyday life. This also includes morning routines. Where I’d normally wake late, I now wake up and greet the sunrise. I understand why David seeks Him early. And lately, I’ve been working on my fitness after I pray and give God praise for a new day. It has certainly been a blessing!

I am thankful for the new morning routines.Β

Day 363 of 366: thankful for the new fridge

through knowledge its rooms are filled
Β Β Β Β with rare and beautiful treasures.

Proverbs 24:4

For the past few weeks, we were deciding on which fridge to purchase to replace the one that we currently have. Last night was the final straw when it started to give up on keeping the meats cold, so dad went out and bought one today, and it’s a lovely upgrade to the one we’ll be getting rid of tomorrow God’s willing.

I am thankful for the new fridge.

Day 362 of 366: thankful for rest today!

β€œCome to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28

Last week, it was super hectic. I kept going, going, going, to the point where I was thinking, “Where is this going to end?” Today, I woke early to help with the cooking, and afterwards, I returned to bed and slept for about 4 hours. I felt so much better after waking up.

I am thankful that I got to rest for a few hours today, for I needed it.

Day 361 of 366: thankful for a sense of peace

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

Being at peace is important to me and there is no peace like that of Jesus’ peace! He’s the Prince of Peace and I’m happy that He reigns! There are times when I feel on edge as if I’m on my last, but whenever I go to Him, I immediately feel calm, and at peace.

I am thankful for a sense of peace.Β

Day 360 of 366: thankful for the week

β€œSix days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.

Exodus 34:21

Well, it was a hectic week, that’s for sure! I’m still not sure if I’m wide awake or writing this as I sleep. Anyways, I was thankful for…

* The strength to make it through. Had it not been for God, I don’t know how I was seeing this week through. I was not entirely 100%, and at times, I couldn’t even function.

* For winning a cash prize. I was super thankful for this prize and still am for it’s still so surreal! I placed some monies aside for God’s ministry and divided the rest amongst family members.

* For learning new French words. I hardly have time to myself lately, so I tend to spend only a few minutes on Duolingo.Β

There were many other things to be thankful for, but those are the highlights. I’m very thankful to make it through this week.Β

Day 359 of 366: thankful for safety pins

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Matthew 18:20

I never thought that I’ll be thankful for safety pins! I’ve been using them regularly lately for various purposes and I’m reminded of God’s Word in so many ways when it comes to attaching ourselves to the world: Latch onto the Word rather than the world.

I am thankful for safety pins.

Day 358 of 366: thankful that I can help out any way I can

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

Matthew 25:35

Late last year, I made plans to start a small ministry with my sisters in Christ. Some monies were saved up to oversee a school drive and groceries for the needy. But then the pandemic hit, and we had to change our plans. However, we did get to do a small school drive providing stationeries and notebooks for a few families in need. My bestie recently supplied groceries for a lady in need and now, we’re planning to do a small monthly grocery drive in Jesus’ Name.

Despite not having a job at the moment, I am thankful that I can help others in any way I can.

Day 357 of 366: thankful for the new words

The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:9

Building my vocabulary when it comes to writing is important and I haven’t done so in a while, so I recently sat down and learned a few exotic words that I look forward to using in my near future writings.Β

I am thankful for the discovery of new words.Β
