Day 60 of 366: thankful for small accomplishments

I don’t like to plan for things never really go as planned. At the beginning of the year, I talked about using a planner for the first time on my other blog, but guess what? It’s February and most of the things I intended to complete are still unfinished. However, I am thankful for the small accomplishments that I’ve achieved so far with God as my Guide. He reminded me that the little ones count, too.

Day 58 of 366: thankful for the patience

Patience means waiting and waiting means God’s timing, not mine. I was not always patient. Before, I wanted everything as soon as it left my heart, but many of those cases turned out to be disastrous. I’ve come to learn and appreciate patience over time and I only have God to thank for the lessons I learned along the way.

I am currently at a place where I have to make quite a few decisions that may or may not alter my life. I’m just thankful that I can rely on God before I can make such decisions.

Day 56 of 366: thankful for holidays

Trinidad is currently celebrating Carnival and although I don’t partake in this festival, I am thankful for the two-day holiday away from work, so I can rest and recharge. I’ve been busy lately so these two days were definitely welcomed.

in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry,
whether living in plenty or in want.

Philippians 4:12

We look for a lot of reasons to be unhappy for we fail to be happy with the things that we have. When you’re content, you tend to be happier. I’ve had a lot to learn in this department throughout the years, and I am very thankful for the lessons the Lord has taught me.

Happiness is definitely a state of mind, for, in order to be happy, you have to choose to be happy with God leading the way. Happiness is infectious, contagious, and vivacious! When you choose to be happy, there is no time to sulk, whine, complain, grumble or mumble. It makes you feel thankful for being alive no matter what circumstance you may find yourself in.

The only question that you need to ask yourself today is: are you happy? Good, go spread some around.

Day 53 of 366: thankful for small mercies

You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
    abounding in love to all who call to You.

Psalm 86:5 

Here’s the thing: sometimes, I tend not to see that something was fulfilled or has come to past until I sit down and reflect. This can be taken for granted so, at the end of the day, I tend to look back, reflect, and thank God. 

I am utmost thankful when God answers the smallest of prayer and blesses me in the littlest of ways for small mercies are certainly wonderful, too.

Think back to an act of small mercy that the Lord has blessed you with – recent or way back – and if you haven’t thanked Him as yet, use this time to thank Him.

Day 52 of 366: thankful for spiritual nourishment!

If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

1 Timothy 4:6

Yes, we need physical food, but we also need spiritual food. I find my spiritual nutrition in God’s Word, praying, and praising Him. I have to learn to be more still often, but additional nourishment may come from books based solely and directly on His Word.

I am utmost thankful for spiritual nourishment.

We’ve been having pretty cold nights lately, and I am super grateful for them for I fall asleep easily with my pet cat by my side. I live for moments like these.
